This
is a critique of Pastor John Hagee’s belief system disseminated on Thursday,

Pastor Hagee began; turn to the book of Zechariah, the 12

The

70 AD to never rise again as the city of God because the Jews rejected and
crucified Jesus Christ the Lord of Glory, as prophesied by Jesus Christ in Luke
19:41-44, “As Jesus approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and
said, "If you, even you, had only known on this
day what would bring you peace--but now it is hidden from your eyes. The days
will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and
encircle you and hem you in on every side. They will dash you to the ground,
you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on
another, because you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you."
Today,

Hagee continued, this is the city where Jesus Christ the son

their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks, and no one
will study war again.

Hagee doesn’t understand that we are living precisely in the one thousand years
reign of Christ and His church. A thousand years is not a literal one thousand
years, but it is the span of time from when the believers first received the
Holy Spirit at Pentecost marking the birth of the church, until the second
coming of Jesus Christ. Hagee believes that Revelation 20:9, speaks of the
earthly city of Jerusalem, but “the beloved city” is actually Jesus Christ's
church, which Christ purchased with His blood at Calvary as indicated in
Revelation 20:9, They marched across the breadth of the
earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came
down from heaven and devoured them.”
Hagee continued, can you imagine a world where there are no
armies and no one is studying how to destroy someone else? Jerusalem is the
future of the world. Jerusalem is the epicenter of Bible prophesy. Jerusalem is
the cup of trembling, this is the description that prophet Zechariah gives and
it is recorded in the King James version verses 2 and 3 read with me
"Behold I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling onto all the people round
about when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem,
and in that day I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people all
that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of
the earth be gathered together against it." God is saying any nation any
group of army that comes against Israel I am going to cut them in pieces, and
that is going to happen in the near future.

on the fruit of the trees that grow by the river of life, I always enjoy eating
and there is a reason to enjoy that verse. Verse 3, I will make Jerusalem a
burdensome stone. Consider the list of nations in world's history that have
